Your whataboutist "then we don't need Germany, Spain, Portugal, the UK and the USA" is ahistorical nonsense easily refuted by evidence. Russia as a land-based colonial empire is a world apart from how Germany, Spain, Portugal and the UK.

Germany and Italy were built by a combination of top-down Bismarckian and Cavour's realpolitik and bottom up nationalism. There were no genocidal conquests of the Bavarians and Schwabians by the Prussians or the Siciliani, Napoletani, Pugliesi and Calabresi by the Piemontesi ruled by the Savoyard monarchy.

Spain was unified by dynastic marriage and conquest of the Muslim south, Portugal by divorce from Spain in 1640 and the UK by a combination of dynastic marriage and constitutional Act of Union in 1707.

Spain suppressed two Catalan separatist rebellions, but not with the same genocidal ferocity as the Russians did in the Holodomor, the Baltic States, eastern Poland, the two conquests of Chechnya, Crimean and other Tatars and numerous other peripheral nationalities.

Keeping Russian poetry, dance, music and history is separate from keeping Russia IN ITS CURRENT IMPERIAL BOUNDARIES. The same could be said of Germany in 1918 and 1945 and Japan in 1944 and Italy in 1943 and China now. At war's end rejecting Germany's 1914 borders, Japan's 1941 imperial borders and Italy's 1943 borders implied no rejection of Goethe, Beethoven, Dante, Rossini, Verdi or Kabuki.

There are Russian parallels with the USA's conquest of a continent. But because most of Siberia is too far north to be economically viable except for extractive industries, Russia never properly settled it as the USA did its western frontier, overwhelming the natives with a demographic avalanche more than with warfare.

"The current relationship is certainly not the best" is a vulgar euphemism for genocidal war that ignores how Putin's mouthpiece Timofiy Sergetsyev in Ria Novosti has proclaimed Russia's genocidal intentions to erase Ukraine and Ukrainian identity forever. Russia, in its current imperial incarnation, has told you clearly what it is and you're deaf to what it's telling you.

Before trotting out easy lazy analogies, you might next time get familiar with the real history behind them.
