What you ask for will only be possible AFTER the Arabs of the West Bank and Gaza acknowledge that 1948, what they call Nakba, is a closed issue. The 97% surveyed who persist in the "from the river to the sea" fantasy are prisoners of their version of Japan's Bushido death cult. Dr. Einat Wilf uses the Japan case to explain how only a root and branch approach to demolishing the martyrdom death cult that generations of UNRWA-financed indoctrination have done can unlock the mental jail cell they're stuck in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o1ku4cE_e4U

When Bassam Eid and son of Hamas' founder Mossab Hassan Yousef become the Education and Prime Ministers of a Hamas-free secular-governed Gaza, then what you ask for might be possible: https://medium.com/lessons-from-history/palestinians-wish-granted-israelis-return-to-where-they-came-from-8d336e7d606c

What you call "pointing fingers" and "dwelling on the past" is what I call accountability, what Germany did after 1945 and Austria and Japan didn't do; and what the American South has never done. January 6's confederate flags showed how toxic amnesia can be.

The Palestine problem is a subset of what Bernard Lewis defined as What Went Wrong: the Clash Between Islam and Modernity in the Middle East: the refusal of the Muslim world to recognize that modernization without bottom up westernization--rule of law, gender and sexual equality, gay rights, secularization, total freedom of intellectual enquiry and to leave Islam--is impossible.

Only petro state family businesses with flags can be fake it til you make it exceptions--for a while.
