TRUTH and reconciliation via FACTS
South Africa, Chile and Argentina all established Truth and Reconciliation commissions that worked quite well in the wake of exponentially greater crimes against constitutional order and human rights than occurred in Washington on January 6. Notice the first half of the commissions' name: truth, which precedes reconciliation. Reconciliation precedes unity.
Nothing precedes factual truth acknowledged by both sides. Factual truth: Biden got 81m+ legitimately counted votes. Trump got 74m legitimately counted votes. Biden won legitimately. If American Thinker can do it, you can too:

We start from the premise that nonwhite votes counted in cities count the same as white votes counted in exurbs and rural counties, or we go nowhere. The 3/5 compromise is constitutionally dead, no matter how hard Republican state legislatures try to revive it with voter ID and suppression laws, polling place and ballot dropbox closures, as Texas governor Greg Abbott did in Harris County.
We start from the premise that the USA will be a fully multiracial democracy or it will not be a democracy at all. Prerequisite for this premise: the political banishment of white nationalism that adheres to the core of Nazi ideology: the existence of superior races inherently entitled to rule (“you people in (nordic) Minnesota have the best genes; it’s the racehorse theory…” — Trump at rally, 9/19/20).

There is no case in human history of a democracy formerly dominated by a majority racial or ethnic group successfully transitioning peacefully to robust rule of law multiracial democracy as the former majority becomes a demographic minority. To survive as a democracy, that is, to survive at all as a unified state, the USA must become the first case in human history to see its formerly dominant racial majority accept that it will be a demographic minority within a fully multiracial democracy.

We start from the premise that ALL political leaders who supported or incited the insurrectionists be held legally accountable, from fist-pump Hawley, to Valley Forge Cruz, to take down names and kick ass Mo Brooks, to Trump. Why? Because the law says so:

(b) As used in this chapter, the term “to incite a riot”, or “to organize, promote, encourage, participate in, or carry on a riot”, includes, but is not limited to, urging or instigating other persons to riot, but shall not be deemed to mean the mere oral or written (1) advocacy of ideas or (2) expression of belief, not involving advocacy of any act or acts of violence or assertion of the rightness of, or the right to commit, any such act or acts. The Constitution says nobody is above the law, including powerful elected legislators and ex-presidents.
While 80%+ of the Republican Party swallows the Big Lie of election fraud, and 45% of Republicans surveyed support the insurrectionists, no part of the three stage truth, reconciliation, reunification process will properly proceed. Mitch McConnell took a halting step in the right direction by acknowledging that the insurrectionists were fed lies. Republicans that live in the QAnonified, OANNified and Newsmaxified alternate universe, demagogically fed by 147 of their spineless leaders on January 6, must rip up their diplomas from the Kellyanne Conway School of Alternative Facts and rejoin the science and reality-based community, reconciliation will remain a distant dream. There is no disinfectant for the electoral infodemic propagated by Trump, Hawley, Cruz, Brooks, Gosar & Co but fact-based truth and legal accountability for those who incite insurrection against legitimately held elections.
