Trump's plaque-brained narcissism just declared his strategy in five words: "I am who I am."

He's the perfect reflection of the willfully fact-free and ignorant 40-45% of the US population that caused HL Mencken to say, "no man ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people" (paraphrased).

The Italian version says the same thing with enhanced brevity: "la madre degli scemi e sempre incinta" (the mother of the idiots is always pregnant). This explains both American and Italian elections.
