Genocide, war crimes blood libel, denial of Israel’s right to self-defense.
Polish Jewish Shoah survivor, Raphael Lemkin, created this word and defined genocide as “acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group”.
Without intention there is no genocide. To judge intention ask this question: if the victims surrender will it end or accelerate the killing? Compare Gaza to these cases:
Rwanda, 1994: Watch the movie Hotel Rwanda. Surrender would certainly have brought massacre to the Tutsis sheltering in the hotel. Nobody contests the verdict of genocide the Hutus committed. Israel in Gaza equivalent to Hutus’ genocide in Rwanda? Really?:
Bosnia, 1995: The killing of 8000 civilians after Dutch UN peacekeepers withdrew from Srebrenica and Gorazde tells you: accelerate. Genocide? The verdicts against Mladic, Karadzic and Milosevic are clear.
Warsaw, 1943: Would the ghetto rebels’ surrender have stopped or slowed the trains taking them to the gas chambers of Treblinka? No, it was their revolt and refusal to surrender that led to rebellion in Treblinka that shut it down. Gaza and Warsaw are polar opposites.
So apply this question to Gaza: would Hamas’ surrender stop or accelerate the killing of Hamas’ human shields? Roof knock warning shots and IDF Unit 504, that calls and messages Gazans to tell them to evacuate targets, tell us that Israel’s intention is the opposite of the first three cases. Israel’s intentions are the exact opposite of Rwanda’s 1994 Hutus, Bosnia’s 1995 Serbs and wartime Germany’s. No intention = no genocide.
If the IDF is genocidal, then the Korean War, the 1st and 2nd Gulf Wars, the Iraqi-Kurdish siege of Mosul, with its 3:1 civilian to combatant death ratio, and the Vietnam War were all genocidal.
Gaza’s population in 2005 when Israel ended its occupation: 1.345 million. In 2023: 2.3 million. Israel’s Arab population in 1948: 167000. Today: 2.1 million. Israel is the least competent genocidal state in human history.
