Nazi Trump? Listen To Him Answer the Question In His Own Words

And Hitler built the autobahns….

Here we debate one thing: Trump's Nazi obsession with genes determining a a hierarchy of humanity by race. His own words define him as Nazi: "you people in Minnesota have the best genes." He was referring to their BIOLOGICAL inheritance by claiming that their toughness or strength of character as a group were genetically determined. And he said their BIOLOGICAL inheritance was superior to that of the people of other less white and Nordic states.

I am well aware of the consequences of this kind of thinking:

• In 2014 I recorded interviews with Riva Shafer, a Latvian Jewish survivor who avoided capture by the Germans and Latvian collaborators with false papers and staying in safe houses.
• In 2001 I interviewed Sergeant Harry Matso, the president of the Finnish Jewish War Veterans Association, whose field synagogue on the Arctic front in Karelia was less than a kilometer from German SS units.
• I watched fascism die in Portugal in the summer 1974 and in Spain in 1976, and got a punch in the face from a fascist thug in the Valencia fallas in March 1976. Fascism — up close and personal.
• In 1984 I sent a 6'2" swastika tattoed Nazi running away from me terrified down the Venice beach boardwalk after he mouthed off about Jews in my beachfront store.

After you read the literally thousands of books and journal articles about fascism and Nazism that I’ve read and listen to my personal experience of this malignant ideology you have fallen prey to through Donald “I like order and strength” the Nazi German Trump, you may again try to persuade me to take your arguments seriously. COVID showed us expertise counts (unless you still believe your Fuhrer’s advice to inject bleach). With respect to defining and recognizing Nazism, I have nearly 50 years of accumulated in person and academic expertise that you don’t.

So you're in no position to give me fact-free, ahistorical lessons about the consequences of identity politics and Nazism. Trump has repeatedly biologized the social and historical outcomes of different racial and ethnic groups into a collective ("you people") hierarchy of superior and inferior. This is the essence of Nazism and the Jim Crow white supremacist ideology the Nazis copied from the early 20th century USA. If you choose not to see this, it’s because Fuhrer Trump has injected your mind with the intellectual Lysol of “don’t believe what you see and hear”.
