The West Bank and Gaza Arabs' war of return has the same probability of success as the Germans' probability of returning to Konigsberg, Breslau, Danzig and Oskar Schindler's Sudeten hometown of Zwittau.
German civilians fled the Red Army's advance because they knew exactly how their Wehrmacht had murdered millions in the USSR and that what goes around comes around.
The same goes for the Italians who fled Istria and Ragusa (Dubrovnik), though the Italians were less murderous there than their German allies.
