The obvious solution to data that refutes your argument is to shoot the messenger, not deal with the data. But facts are stubborn things that defy ideologically built narratives:

The list of countries with Gini coefficients of income inequality higher than the USA. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_income_equality):

Angola, Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Botswana, Brazil, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cabo Verde, Central African Republic, Chile, Colombia, Comoros, DR Congo, Congo, Costa Rica, Djibouti, Ecuador, Ghana, Guatemala, Guyana, Iran, Jamaica, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malaysia, Mexico, Micronesia, Mozambique, Namibia, Nicaragua, Panama, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Qatar, Rwanda, Sao Tome, Singapore, South Africa, South Sudan, St Lucia, Suriname, Tanzania, Togo, Trinidad-Tobago, Turkiye, Turkmenistan, Uganda, Uruguay, Venezuela, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

America's default economic model is certainly oligarchy and plutocracy. But the countervailing democratizing currents unleashed by the elections of Jefferson, Lincoln, Teddy and Franklin Roosevelt, and LBJ produced the results in this data.

Imagination not limited by data yields fiction.
