The idea that Indonesian, Malaysian, Uighur, Filipino, Brunei, southern Thai, Rohinja, Indian, Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Kazakh, Uzbek, Tadzhik, Kirghiz, Turkmeni, Senegalese, Nigerian....(I'll stop here) are unified about anything and ready to engage in coordinated collective action is laughably stupid.
In 1989 I toured Borobodur, Java with an Islamic law student who took me there on his Vespa. When I asked him about the Iranian theocracy he said "that's not Islam, that's fanaticism."
And the idea that the Muslim owner of a houseboat on Lake Dal in Kashmir in June 1989 would do anything for Palestine is laughable. A separatist secession war in Kashmir was just getting started, which is why I had the whole houseboat to myself for $45. His son had just married a non-Muslim woman from studying at the University of Wisconsin and he had purely local problems to worry about.
