Henry Ford said history is bunk. Apparently you agree with this paragon of American knownothingism, virulent anti-semitism and financier of Nazis.

"Today's realities": Russian nationalists as obsessed about history as their essay-writing Fuhrer Putin literally sanctify war crimes and destruction. They used the shards of glass from the bombing of Mariupol to create a stained glass window for the Defense Ministry church. From the Russian dissident site Meduza.io operating out of Riga:

"Mariupol is our Kulikovo field.” In the church of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, a stained-glass window with the warrior Peresvet was consecrated. It was created from glass fragments collected at the battlefields in Mariupol

In the main church of the Russian armed forces, a stained-glass window was consecrated, created from fragments collected in the Ukrainian Mariupol. This was reported by the patriotic movement "Katyusha". Mediazona journalists were among the first to pay attention to the publication.

Shards of glass for a stained-glass window were collected by the activists at the battlefields in Mariupol. The stained-glass window depicts the warrior monk Peresvet, who returns to the army of Dmitry Donskoy after the victory over Chelubey on the Kulikovo field. At the same time, the image of Peresvet was taken from the painting of the military artist Pavel Ryzhenko "Victory of Peresvet".

Telegram channel "Soft power"

“Today Mariupol is our new Kulikovo field. The place from which the renewed Russian statehood began, the city-symbol, the city where the truth won. Like then, more than 700 years ago,” the movement explained the meaning of stained glass."

After the consecration, the stained-glass window is planned to be handed over to one of the schools in Mariupol, which was restored by Russia. “Preferably in the history room. After all, we live in the midst of truly historical events, ”the channel said in a statement.

Anthropologist Tatyana Krihtova commented on the news about the stained glass consecration with the words: "It's creepy." “For Peresvet, this fight, as well as for his opponent, was fatal, he is considered the winner because the corpse stayed in the saddle longer. That is, a dead man jumps on the stained-glass window, ”she noted.

Not quite turning human skin into lamp shades, but not certainly similar to the Nazis' aesthetizing of genocidal violence. There is, of course, no Ukrainian equivalent to this sanctifying and fetishizing of ethnonationalist violence, despite your attempts to peddle false moral equivalence between the two sides.

The disparity in power between the western coalition and Russia is far greater than in Crimea 1.0 in 1853-56, in its defeat by Japan in 1905, its defeat in WWI in 1918 and during the cold war: $70tn in GDP vs $1.5tn, a far larger NATO with Finland as a member checkmating Russia's former capital of St Petersburg if Article 5 were ever triggered.

What part of Ukraine's right to exist do you see as negotiable? You never say. Lavrov has said the premise of any negotiation is Ukraine accepting Russia's annexation of the four regions. Otherwise, he said there's no point in talking.
