* Forecasting Ukrainian military failure, including last summer just before Kharkiv and last autumn just before Kherson was liberated. Russia's sole offensive capability is slamming missiles into apt blocks, restaurants, hospitals and schools.
* Pitching Russian victimhood claims about NATO. Ask the new NATO member Finns who invaded whom in 1939. Ask the Baltic States too.
* Indifference and unseeing Russia's genocidal war crimes and exterminationist intentions.
* Ignoring that if Russia leaves Ukraine, the war ends. Ukraine aspires to occupy no Russian territory.
" looking for undetonated cluster bombs."--Russia is already using them in Ukraine. Anyone objecting to Ukraine having parity with Russia in their use advocates unilateral Ukrainian disarmament, the true meaning of Mr. Dunn's term "de-escalation". It's either F-16s, F-18s or cluster bombs used against Russian fortifications to enable Ukraine to transition from attritional to maneuver warfare.
"Russia begins to split"--Been there, done that in 1917 and 1991 and the Time of Troubles before the Romanovs took power. Outsiders can exert precious little influence on domestic Russian politics. If the 100+ non-Russian subjugated peoples of the Russian empire decide to bolt, we can do little to stop or help them. Remember Bush 1.0's Chicken Kiev speech telling Ukraine not to secede from the USSR? How did that work out? Welcome, don't fear empire demolition as in 1918, 1989-91.
No peace is possible without de-imperializing Russia. Full stop. Russia is one part of global authoritarian kleptocracy axis including the DPKR, Iran, China, Saudi Arabia, Belarus. Ukraine is the linchpin of this struggle.
