"most brutal war": Try Darfur, Yemen civil war, the recently concluded Syrian civil war, Ukraine. All have killed far more, with the first three involved deliberate mass starvation of civilians, which hasn't happened in Gaza. I could send you images of the contents of COGAT aid trucks being sold in Gaza markets. This phrase is just hybrid disinformation warfare by hyperbole.
"nearing 10%": Not even close. 10% of 2.345m Gazans = 234,500. Not even Hamas's Death and Human Shield Ministry does math that inaccurate.
"not one has worked": Arabs rejected two state partition plans in 1937, 1939, 1945, 1947, 1967, 1979, 2000-01, 2008, 2014, 2020. Perfect track record of choosing war over statehood if Jews also got a state. Ernests Bevin is still right after 78 years: "the highest point of principle for the Arabs is that the Jews not have a state in any part of the land."
"Free Palestine, from the river to the sea" in Arabic: "from the water to the water, Palestine will be Arab."
This = Palestine Judenrein. Genocidal intentions are clear and expressed in Hamas's covenant. Take it literally and seriously.
If Arabs want peace, they need to sign the same contract the Abraham Accords states, Egypt and Jordan signed, as formulated by Dr. Einat Wilf:
“What I need to hear from a Palestinian is this: the Jewish people, as a people, have the equal right to self-determination in this land which is also their homeland. I know that this means that we can build a state of Palestine next to the Jewish state of Israel and not instead of it. I understand that this means that living in Gaza and the West Bank I am not a refugee from Palestine. This means I do not possess a right of return into the sovereign state of Israel. I only want to build a prosperous state of Palestine in Gaza and the West Bank and nowhere else. And I always tell them go bring me one….and no one ever does. And just to be clear, it’s not that I’m sitting and saying, oh look at me you know no one ever comes back. As I said, as a long-term peace activist I’m looking for these voices.”
The total number of Palestinians she's found ready to agree to Jewish equality in sovereignty publicly is a grand total of.....3. One is Palestinian peace activist Bassam Eid. Another is the Al Quds Univ. prof Mohammed Dajani who lost his job when he took his students to Auschwitz to see firsthand the final solution the Hitler-Himmler buddy Grand Mufti Amin Al-Husseini allied the Arabs with. It took Prof Dajani tremendous courage to teach the Shoah at Al Quds. It takes no courage at all for Dr. Wilf to recognize Palestinian equality in sovereignty. Therein lies the asymmetry that's invisible to you.
Since you're starting a peace publication, it's your job to find more Palestinians ready to sign. Prove Dr. Wilf wrong. In more than a decade nobody has yet.
"most polarizing issue on earth"--Only because of the "no Jews = no news" double standards anti-semitism, a shape-shifting planetary virus more than 3 millenia old.
