Many thanks for reading and for these sources, some of which I knew about, some not. I’ll certainly take a look.
But do not interpret my writing as a defense of Netanyahu’s policy, occupation or West Bank settlements. The latest conflict was a 3-way war between wag the dog Netanyahu, election-avoiding Mahmoud Abbas and the theocratic fascists of Hamas. To paraphrase Harry Truman on June 23, 1941, I wish all three sides could lose.
Rehashing remote in time history is academically interesting, but a rabbit hole to nowhere in debating how to reach a final settlement. Palestinians have to understand that they can’t have hudna (truce) without salaam (permanent peace). But the Nakba stolen land narrative now defines their collective identity, as Corey Gil-Shuster’s Ask Project interviews make clear.
I suggest you submit some of your points to Corey Gil-Shuster’s Ask Project as questions: “did you know that….”
