I've been doing that since before you were born:

Nearly 40 years ago in LA I was a volunteer at El Rescate interpreting and compiling asylum applications for Central American refugees petitioning for asylum at the Canadian consulate. I heard more stories of murders by death squads under US-sponsored regimes than you'd every want to hear.
More than 50 years ago I was marching against the Vietnam War, which ended (for the US) a month before my 18th birthday. I was #96 in the draft lottery.
But American imperial crimes in the 20th century never aimed at the conquest of territory or the genocidal elimination of peoples, as Bushido Japan, the Stalinist and Putinist Russia and Nazi Germany did. Without the USA's empire demolition operations you never would have seen the end of the European empires defeated in colonial wars. Remember Suez? Algeria? Dienbienphu?
