I've already sent you data that show minimal variance in the % of Ukrainians that favor continuing the war until final victory. 88% in Kharkiv vs 94% in Lviv. This blame the west article is pure Putinist disinformation with only anecdotal in lieu of scaled survey data. And the writer certainly didn't talk to those who survived Russian occupation and war crimes in Izyum. The idea that Ukrainians have no agency and are fighting because the US is telling them to is pure neocolonial prejudice that assumes Ukraine's existence as an independent state is contingent and Russia's is permanent when it's Russia as land-based colonial empire that is temporary because the example of Ukrainian independence will end it.
This article can't possibly apply to me because:
* I'm married to a woman with relatives in Belarus and Russia, one of whom was just drafted in Putin's "partial mobilization".
* I speak Russian and live in Latvia half the year.
* Have veteran friends and colleagues in Kyiv.
* Have lots of former Riga Business School students from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Tadzhikistan, Kazakhstan, Poland. I'm a lot closer to the fighting than both of you.
* A Riga friend of mine's cousin was just drafted in Putin's "partial mobilization" for his "special military operation".
Ukrainian victory and the neutering of Russia's military is the only way to increase the distance between us and the war Putin, in his post-modern Orwellian "newspeak" refuses to call a war.
