If you're a gentile with "reservations" about Israel who spends more energy on this conflict than the far more lethal Sudan and Syrian civil wars, the Yazidis, forgotten Kurdistan, or Russia's genocidal war against Ukraine, you're playing into the anti-semites' protest dogs that didn't bark double standards game. That this conflict gets special attention from the global wokerati mob is the problem. That you're on our side instead of mindlessly repeating genocidal slogans is appreciated. That you resist understanding the anti-semitic roots of the protest dogs that don't bark double standards problem is not appreciated.
Imagine how these countries would react to the same thing:
Poland attacked by East Prussians and Silesians demanding their land back and telling the Poles to go back to where they came from.
Czechia attacked by Sudeten Germans demanding a right of return and telling the Czechs there they should go back to where they came from.
Ethnic Italians in Italy waging a mass murder terror war on Slovenia and Croatia demanding a right of return to Fiume, Ragusa (Rijeka, Dubrovnik).
Mexicans waging a terror war on Americans demanding the return of CA, NM, AZ, NV, TX.
You know exactly what they'd all do--and without roof knocks and leaflets ordering evacuations. And you wouldn't hear a peep from the global wokerati mob now chanting "keep the world (Jew/Judenrein) clean" and "gas the Jews". No Polish, Czech, Slovenian or Croatian university student would be listening to chants wishing him/her dead.
What Israel needs to do to ensure that Hamas can't repeat its promise for many more October 7s is, within the framework of the Geneva Convention's laws of war, an Israeli decision alone. The world and its "public opinion" infused by 2000 years of malignant pogrom and genocide filled anti-semitism need to understand two very simple facts:
1. The era of killing Jews with impunity is over FOREVER. To ensure this is so Israel will play by the same rules as the rest of the world has presented them to Israel.
2. If you declare your intention to inflict another genocide on the Jewish people, as Hamas has, and then violently act on that intention, you have passed your own death sentence.

In Israel's hierarchy of needs, it's entirely annihilating Hamas and getting the hostages home at the top and public opinion a distant 2nd. Once the world figures out that Hamas wouldn't release more women hostages out of fear that the women would tell their stories of the sexual violence they'd been subjected to, the distant 2nd will take care of itself.
