If you don't want the IDF in your house, don't have a tunnel shaft entrance and hostages there.

The antidote to this writer's invention of intention about Israel is here: https://medium.com/lessons-from-history/israel-vs-hamas-war-crimes-genocide-and-the-invention-of-intention-445975418168

A simple truth from the UN statute on war crimes:

"undefended" civilian objects are protected. A Hamas fighter with an RPG causes that object to forfeit its protected status. Hamas terrorists walking hostages through a hospital means that hospital becomes a raid target.

"70% of the people killed in Gaza have been civilians"--This mindlessly repeats Hamas Death Ministry claims. The UN just brought back to life 10500 civilians and admitted on May 25 that its casualty figures were wrong. Here's a sample of the math:

35000 - 10500 = 24500 total deaths

24500-14000 combatant deaths = 10500

4000 = the natural mortality rate for 8 months in a peacetime population of 2.3m.

10500 - 4000 = 6500 civilian deaths.

Wharton data scientist Abraham Wyner has dismantled Hamas' fake fatality figures as implausibly consistent and linear given that war is anything but: https://www.tabletmag.com/sections/news/articles/how-gaza-health-ministry-fakes-casualty-numbers

The whole world was forecasting tens of thousands of civilian deaths from the Rafah operation. It has not happened and civilian deaths have declined precipitously in a war reduced to targeted operations to close down the terror tunnels in the Philadelphi corridor.

From an AP analysis of casualties: https://apnews.com/article/israel-palestinians-hamas-war-casualties-toll-65e18f3362674245356c539e4bc0b67a

"The proportion of Palestinian women and children being killed in the Israel-Hamas war appears to have declined sharply, an Associated Press analysis of Gaza Health Ministry data has found, a trend that both coincides with Israel’s changing battlefield tactics and contradicts the ministry’s own public statements. The AP analysis highlights facts that have been overlooked and could help inform the public debate, said Gabriel Epstein, a research assistant at the Washington Institute for Near East policy who has also studied the Health Ministry data.

The declining impact on women and children -- as well as a drop in the overall death rate -- are “definitely due to a change in the way the IDF is acting right now,” Epstein said, using an acronym for the Israeli army. “That’s an easy conclusion, but I don’t think it’s been made enough.”

The threat to Israel is existential, with 80000 displaced Israelis unable to return home, which no sovereign state would ever accept. And since Hamas launched a self-declared genocidal war of choice (read its covenant and Palestinian media at https://palwatch.org) , Israel's conduct falls well within the key terms of the UN statute:

"Intentionally launching an attack in the knowledge that such attack will cause incidental loss of life or injury to civilians or damage to civilian objects or widespread, long-term and severe damage to the natural environment which would be clearly excessive in relation to the concrete and direct overall military advantage anticipated;

Attacking or bombarding, by whatever means, towns, villages, dwellings or buildings which are undefended and which are not military objectives;

Before you write again, read the law.
