I never agreed with Crime Minister Netanyahu's policy of "Hamas is an asset, Fatah a liability." None of my Israeli friends did either, recognizing that it was calculated to prevent a two state solution, destroy the Israeli peace movement and to ensure his kleptocratic rule by dividing Israeli society against itself.
So Crime Minister Netanyahu, Mr. Security for settlers, brought mass murder blowback onto exactly that part of Israeli society he hates: 79 year old kibbutznik Chaim Peri, who volunteered to drive Gazans to Israeli hospitals for medical treatment and the kibbutzim who employed Gazans at 10x the wages they could earn in Gaza.
Again, war crimes and genocide are defined by intention, not result. Every Israeli intelligence officer's unit choosing targets has an embedded lawyer telling the unit what they can't hit. 30000+ phone calls to Gazans telling them to evacuate buildings tell us that civilian deaths are unintentional.
You're using the two terms colloquially and inaccurately, not legally. Reread Lemkin and the Geneva Convention's clause:
Intentionally launching an attack in the knowledge that such attack will cause incidental loss of life or injury to civilians or damage to civilian objects or widespread, long-term and severe damage to the natural environment which would be clearly excessive in relation to the concrete and direct overall military advantage anticipated;
Hamas declared its genocidal intentions in 1988 and carried them out on October 7, at the same time promising many reruns.
Hizbullah has declared the same and put them into practice in 2006. Since the threat is existential, Israel's response falls within the clause quoted above. This is legal fact. Think like a lawyer, not a Jew taunting Shoah trivializing ideologue.
From 1948-67 the so-called "Palestinians", a cosplay nation invented by its own leaders Zuher Mohsen and Yasser Arafat, were occupied by Jordan and Egypt.
"Mohsen himself stated that there were "no differences between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians, and Lebanese", though Palestinian identity would be emphasised for political reasons. In a March 1977 interview with the Dutch newspaper Trouw he stated that "between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese there are no differences. We are all part of one people, the Arab nation [...] Just for political reasons we carefully underwrite our Palestinian identity. Because it is of national interest for the Arabs to advocate the existence of Palestinians to balance Zionism. Yes, the existence of a separate Palestinian identity exists only for tactical reasons", representing the Ba'athist perceptive regarding the question of Palestine." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zuheir_Mohsen
Israel's occupation of Gaza ceased in 2005, with $14m donated to buy out the greenhouses and agribusiness Israeli settlers had built, including $500k from the president of the World Bank. The Gazans trashed them instead of building on what they were given. They had a choice between building Dubai or a Mediterrenean Kabul. They chose Kabul, turning donated pipes for water systems into rockets, donated cement to build houses into tunnels to store rockets in, while their kleptocratic billionaire leaders live in luxury in Doha. The blockade that began in 2007 with Hamas' bloody coup against Fatah is a joint Egyptian-Israeli blockade because the Muslim Brotherhood is an existential threat to Egypt's secular government.
