Gaza's occupation ended in 2005. When the Israelis departed they gave all the agribusiness assets they'd built to the PLO. They were destroyed in short order out of sheer spite.
Then Hamas took power in a violent coup in 2007, throwing Fatah officers off rooftops, illustrating the Islamist principal of one person, one vote, one time. Then the attacks against Israel resumed. The blockade, half of which is enforced by the Egyptians, was the response.
Yesterday in Chicago Palestinian-Americans marched in support of Hamas with signs "from the river to the sea". End this delusional idiocy to have peace. Until then, no. The Middle East Media Research Institute's site tells you what they really want: to erase Israel and exterminate its Jews.
