France from June 22, 1940 to June 5, 1944 lived in relative peace. Its southern half wasn't even occupied by the Germans until November 9, 1942.

So did Belgium, Denmark, Norway and the Netherlands.

Belgium lived in relative peace from the autumn of 1914 to November 11, 1918.

The Baltic States lived in relative peace from 1945-1991.

Algeria lived in peace under French rule from 1830-1954, when its war of independence began.

Since Israel is surrounded by hostile Arab states that have sworn to exterminate it and its citizens multiple times (1948, 1967, 1973), who's responsible for escalation. Israel has traded land for peace multiple times (1979, 2005) and gotten a cold peace (with Egypt) or no peace (with Gaza's Arabs after 2005).

The idea that appeasing jihadi fanatics will bring peace is as laughable nonsense as wrong as appeasing Japanese bushido in 1931-41 was.
