Bakunin and Kropotkin warned Karl Marx that his statist socialism of the dictatorship of the proletariat would end up as the authoritarian dictatorship of a one party state that would be far more oppressive than any king or emperor. Their forecast was absolutely prescient, now that we know how murderous the regimes of Lenin, Trotsky, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, the Kim Communist monarchy, Venezuela's Chavez, Fidel's Cuba have been. Who will decide which laws protect fossil fuel companies and which protect basic property and human rights? Would you abolish people's right to start a business? the limited liability corporation? money itself? stock exchanges and forex markets? private ownership of real estate? Antiques and artworks and their exchange in auction markets? Ban private car and boat ownership?
